At Smart-Home, we stand behind the quality of our smart home products. This Warranty Policy outlines your rights and our obligations regarding product defects and malfunctions.

1. Warranty Coverage

✅ What’s Covered:

  • Manufacturing defects (e.g., faulty sensors, non-functional components).
  • Hardware malfunctions under normal use.
  • Products purchased only from Smart-Home or authorised retailers.

❌ What’s Not Covered:

  • Damage from accidents, misuse, or unauthorized modifications
  • Wear and tear (e.g., battery degradation over time).
  • Software issues (unless caused by a hardware defect).
  • Products purchased from third-party resellers (e.g., eBay, Amazon Marketplace).

2. Warranty Period

  • Networking devices – 3 years
  • Smart lights – 3 years *Except smart GU10 – 2 years. 
  • Neutral smart switches – 2 years. 
  • Other smart devices – 1 year.

Warranty period starts from the date of original purchase as indicated on your receipt.

3. How to Claim Warranty Service

  • Contact Us: Email warranty@smarthome.com.sg with:
    • Proof of purchase (order number/receipt).
    • Photos/video of the defect.
    • A brief description of the issue.
  • Evaluation: We’ll review your claim within 5 business days
  • Resolution:
    • Repair: Defective parts will be repaired free of charge.
    • Replacement: If unfixable, we’ll ship a replacement (same or similar model)

 4. Shipping & Costs

  • You Pay: Return shipping for warranty claims.
  • We Pay: Shipping for repaired/replaced items back to you.

Returned items must be securely packaged to prevent transit damage. Items damaged during return shipping may be excluded from warranty service.

5. Limitations & Exclusions

  • Warranty is non-transferable (valid only for the original purchaser).
  • Void if:
    • The product is tampered with (e.g., opened by unauthorized technicians).
    • Serial number is removed/altered.
    • Damage is caused by power surges, water, or other external factors.

6. Legal Rights

This warranty is in addition to your statutory rights under Singapore consumer laws
